Healing House Ince. Overview

Healing House, Inc. is a substance use disorder recovery organization that offers outpatient treatment and recovery housing. Our vision is that everyone who needs recovery would have access to safe, stable housing and the necessary support services to promote lifelong healing, family reunification, and community transformation.

Since 2002, Healing House has provided recovery housing and support that assists both men and women to experience long-term recovery.  Nearly 200 individuals on any given day reside in our fourteen private homes and three apartment buildings. Last year we served over 1,100 individuals, helping them on the road to recovery and meaningful drug- and alcohol-free lives.

Why Clean Slate Is Good for People in Recovery and the Faith Community

Approximately 65% of those served by the Healing House are currently on either probation or parole. Most of the others have a history with the criminal justice system. A critical piece of the rehabilitation process at Healing House is to assist program participants in the latter phases of the program obtain meaningful employment.  Unfortunately, because of their criminal records, these individuals are hampered in their efforts to find jobs and housing.

We constantly see people who have truly turned their lives around being prevented from becoming productive citizens harmed by the fact that a criminal conviction ends up being a “lifetime sentence.”  These folks should be given the same chance to better their lives that everyone in our society has and to receive our support to live a better, drug- and alcohol- free lives.

Therefore, Healing House supports the Clean Slate Initiative which will give the people we serve a much-needed second chance.
